Over the past decade, technology has been rapidly increasing and we have noticed a division between the use of technology between younger and older generations.
We believe that the reason for this divide is due to the lack of assistance and support provided for seniors to learn and embrace modern technology. Because of this lack of support, the elderly may experience social marginalization within our community; causing loneliness, isolation and alienation.
At CACTES Association, we want to abridge social differences not only in poverty-prone areas, but within our local communities as well.
Cyber Seniors is a bi-monthly program aimed towards seniors to gain practical skills and experience first hand with electronic devices such as smartphones, computers and laptops. Guided under the care and instruction of our youth members at CACTES Association, seniors at local care residencies are taught personalized one-on-one lesson plans so that participants can gain the skills and knowledge they desire.
